Walli is built with your privacy as a core principle. We believe personal finance is deeply personal, and your data should stay yours.
All your financial data lives only on your phone. Your income, expenses, goals, savings targets, and personal notes never leave your device unless you choose to export them. We use standard local storage (AsyncStorage) to keep everything secure and offline-accessible.
When you scan a product with Pink Tax Radar, we send only:
This data has zero connection to you as a person. We cannot trace it back to any user. Every submission becomes part of the public Walli Index — a global, crowdsourced database anyone can browse, showing which countries and categories have the worst pink tax.
Walli works perfectly offline. You can use the app, log finances, view your goals, and even scan products for pink tax analysis without an internet connection. Your data syncs when you're back online, but never requires constant connectivity.
We use Groq AI to power Pink Tax Radar analysis. When you scan a product, the product details are sent to our own server, which forwards the request to Groq to generate the analysis. Groq processes this data according to their privacy policy and does not store it for user tracking.
We also use Supabase for anonymous product scan storage. No personal data is sent to Supabase — only the anonymous product details listed above.
Your device storage is protected by your phone's built-in security. We don't use external cloud backup by default. When you do send anonymous scan data, it travels over encrypted HTTPS connections.
